A Canadian agribusiness company specializing in the handling and transportation of grains and oilseeds required comprehensive maintenance and procurement services. KPIC stepped in and assumed various responsibilities, including procuring parts as requested, executing repairs based on mechanical inspections, transporting parts and materials to the site, managing day-to-day repair operations, and assisting in the establishment of a preventative maintenance program. Additionally, KPIC undertook the challenge of reverse engineering specific parts, ultimately reducing replacement costs for the client compared to sourcing them from the manufacturer.
One of the key indicators of success in this project was the outstanding safety record achieved by KPIC. With zero first aid, lost time or property damage incidents on record, despite the significant amount of work and scope involved, it reflected the unwavering commitment of KPIC to maintaining a safe and functional worksite. KPIC’s dedication to prioritizing safety played a pivotal role in achieving this outcome.
The most significant challenge faced by our industry was the shortage of experienced manpower to meet the demanding schedule without risking worker fatigue. Through close collaboration with the client, KPIC successfully addressed this challenge by implementing a rotational work schedule.
