In Spring 2026, G3 Prairie West engaged KPIC to complete a planned elevator shutdown and perform critical maintenance repairs to aging equipment. The scope included installing receiving pit Hardox lining, repairing the truck scale, installing boot pit floor grout, re-lagging three boot pulleys, and completing additional repairs as required. The goal was to complete the work with as little downtime as possible while improving equipment reliability and reducing the risk of future operational disruptions.

With the site located in a rural area and limited access to suppliers, careful planning was essential. KPIC ensured materials, equipment, rentals, and safety equipment were on site before the shutdown and completed as much prep work as possible in advance to maximize efficiency.

During the shutdown, additional equipment damage was identified, requiring the team to quickly adapt to changing site conditions. KPIC also assisted with the engineering and installation of a rescue winch system for the boot pit, allowing repairs to be completed safely.

KPIC completed the project with zero safety incidents and met all key project objectives. The repairs improved equipment reliability, helped reduce downtime during grain receiving and loading operations, and strengthened G3 Prairie West's ability to serve producers throughout the Kindersley area.
